How to Access Information on Removable Media

1. Insert the media.

   The media is mounted after a few seconds.

2. List the contents of the media. For example:

   # ls /media/Oracle_Solaris-12_0-text-x86
   bin               home              root              tmp
   boot              mnt               sbin              varpkg.zlib
   dev               platform          solaris.zlib      zvboot
   devices           proc              solarismisc.zlib
   export            reconfigure       system       

3. (Optional) Copy the file that you identified in the previous step.

Example 72  Accessing Information on Removable Media

This example shows how to access information on a USB memory stick.

$ ls /media/usb-name

This example shows how to access information on a DVD.

$ ls /media
Oracle_Solaris-12-AI-SPARC cdrom
