Connect SuperCluster M6-32 to the Facility Networks

Caution

Caution - Authorized service personnel must perform SuperCluster software configuration tasks before SuperCluster M6-32 is connected to facility networks.

  1. Before connecting SuperCluster M6-32 to any external networks, verify that the factory-provided IP addresses do not conflict with the site network addresses.

Consult the network administrator and see Compute Server Default Host Names and IP Addresses.

  2. Ensure that the facility network is prepared to connect to SuperCluster M6-32.

    See Preparing the Network.

  3. Label the cables used to connect to the facility Ethernet networks.

    See Install Cable Drops.

  4. Route and connect one facility management network cable to the Ethernet management switch port 24.

The Ethernet management switch is in the storage rack in U21. See Storage Rack Network Components.

  5. Route and connect all client access network cables to the compute server EMS Ethernet ports.

    See Compute Server Network Components.

  6. Use velcro cable ties to secure cable bundles so that components can be serviced.

Locate excess cable length either on top of the cabinets or under the raised floor.

  7. Log into SuperCluster M6-32 and verify network connectivity to the site.

Refer to the SPARC M5-32 and SPARC M6-32 Administration Guide. See Hardware Installation Documents.
