The iBeacon only transmits and does not perform any processing tasks. It does not send messages or notifications expressly to the device, instead broadcasting a continuous Bluetooth signal that can be detected.

When a shopper’s iOS device detects an iBeacon transmitter, the IUA app can take an action. It is the device and the app which interacts with the iBeacon, not the shopper, which can only identify a shopper, is if the shopper is logged in and authenticated.
