If you are not already familiar with Oracle Commerce Platform Web services offerings, in particular the Oracle Commerce Platform REST web services in the REST
module see the Web Services Guide. This document assumes you are familiar with the REST
module and REST services in general.
The Store.Mobile.REST
module encapsulates the REST configuration and customizations required for communication between iOS applications and Oracle Commerce Platform server, in JSON format. This communication is achieved through:
Configuring direct access to appropriate components.
Configuring direct access to appropriate
FormHandlers
and their handle methods.
Note: Aggregated responses are created differently, with actors and actor chains, known as the MVC Framework.
Security is provided through standard REST security controls and access control servlets.
The technical design goals for the Store.Mobile.REST
module within CRS-IUA include, but are not limited to:
Avoidance of code duplication through reuse of existing components where possible.
Provision of some component access to anonymous users, in addition to the protection of user data and the prevention of any malicious use of data.
Optimization of performance in the mobile environment through the minimization of client-server round trips and response payload.
