The Oracle Commerce Platform REST framework uses JAX-RS, which is a standard used to develop Restful Web Services. JAX-RS provides annotations that allow you to map a resource class as a Web resource. The framework is an extension of the Jersey application, which extends the JAX-RS standard with additional features and utilities.
RESTful architectures use resources, which are identified by logical URLs. Every component is a resource, and resources are accessed by a common interface. REST servers provide access to resources; and REST clients can access the resource. The system also provides you with REST endpoints within the application allowing you to map a URI and an HTTP method to a resource.
