Viewing Recurring Revenue Bridge Chart

The ARR and MRR Bridge Chart shows how recurring revenue changes over time, highlighting where revenue grows or drops. The chart breaks down gains and losses into clear categories, helping you spot important trends quickly. Recurring Revenue Bridge Chart Key Components

The recurring revenue bridge chart includes the following key components:

  • Data sources - Subscriptions and billing information from NetSuite.

  • Visualization - Bridge chart showing changes in recurring revenue.

  • Impact Categories - Four main types include new, upsell, downsell, and churn, highlighting drivers of growth or loss.

  • Impact Subcategories - Detailed breakdowns such as new customer, add-on, item removal, and customer churn, clarifying reasons for each change.

  • Filters - Metric (ARR or MRR), subsidiary, customer, item, department, class, and location.

  • Reporting periods - Monthly, quarterly, or yearly periods with start and end dates available for selection for analysis.

MRR

The total predictable revenue generated from active subscriptions each month.

ARR

The total predictable revenue generated from active subscriptions each year.

Starting Balance

The recurring revenue at the beginning of the selected period.

New

Revenue from new customers or contracts.

Upsell / Add-on

Additional revenue from existing customers upgrading or adding services.

Downsell / Item Removal

Revenue lost due to customers downgrading or removing services.

Churn / Customer Churn

Revenue lost from customers who cancel their subscriptions.

Ending Balance

The recurring revenue at the end of the selected period.

To view the recurring revenue bridge chart:

  1. Go to Subscription Metrics > Revenue Metrics > View.

  2. From the Metric filter, select ARR or MRR.

  3. (Optional) Apply filters to refine your results.

  4. Select the category, duration, start period, and end period you want to review.

  5. View the summary report for your selected period.

  6. Click any amount, such as new sales or churn, to see transaction-level details.

    You can export details to CSV for further analysis.
