Viewing Recurring Revenue Trend

The Recurring Revenue Trend portlet shows how your company's recurring revenue changes over time. The graph displays the ending balance for each period you select-monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

This tool helps you track the stability and growth of your revenue. You can spot trends, identify risks like customer loss, and see new opportunities. Finance teams and business leaders use this graph to make better decisions.

Recurring Revenue Trend Graph Key Components

  • Data sources - Subscriptions and billing information from NetSuite.

  • Visualization - Line graph showing the ending balance of recurring revenue over time. Updates the Y-axis to show either MRR or ARR based on your selection.

  • Filters - Metric (ARR or MRR), subsidiary, customer, item, department, class, and location.

  • Reporting periods - Monthly, quarterly, or yearly periods with start and end dates available for selection for analysis.

Definition

MRR

The total predictable revenue generated from active subscriptions each month.

ARR

The total predictable revenue generated from active subscriptions each year.

Period

The time interval selected - monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

Ending Balance

The recurring revenue at the end of the selected period.

To view the recurring revenue line graph:

  1. Go to Subscription Metrics > Revenue Metrics > View.

  2. From the Metric filter, select ARR or MRR.

  3. (Optional) Apply the applicable filters.

  4. Select the duration, start period and end period you want to review.

  5. Review the graph to analyze revenue trends.
