Viewing Class Composition

The ARR and MRR Class Composition portlet lets you compare recurring revenue across business classes. Each class is uniquely colored, allowing you to quickly identify top revenue segments and track how each class changes over time. This bar chart provides clear visual breakdown to help you find growth opportunities and address weak areas.

Revenue Composition by Class Key Components

  • Data sources - Revenue and class data from NetSuite, with period definitions from your reporting calendar.

  • Visualization - Bar chart with each class represented by a unique color for clear comparison. The Y-axis shows the percentage of total recurring revenue, the X-axis displays periods-monthly, quarterly, or yearly-based on your selection. Visual representation of changes in class composition over time, highlighting shifts in revenue distribution.

  • Metrics - Ending balances for MRR and ARR, shown as a percentage for each class.

  • Filters - Metric (ARR or MRR), subsidiary, customer, item, department, and location.

  • Reporting periods - Monthly, quarterly, or yearly periods with option to select start and end dates for analysis.

Definition

MRR

The total predictable revenue generated from active subscriptions each month.

ARR

The total predictable revenue generated from active subscriptions each year.

Class

Revenue category or business segment.

Period

The time interval selected - monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

Ending Balance

The recurring revenue at the end of the selected period.

To view the class composition trend graph:

  1. Go to Subscription Metrics > Revenue Metrics > View.

  2. From the Metric filter, select ARR or MRR.

  3. (Optional) Apply the applicable filters.

  4. Select the duration, start period and end period you want to review.

  5. Review the graph to compare class performance.
