Viewing Class Composition

The ARR and MRR Class Composition portlet lets you compare recurring revenue across business classes. Each class uses a unique color, allowing you to quickly identify top revenue segments and track changes over time. Use this bar chart for a visual breakdown to find growth opportunities and address weak areas.

Revenue Composition by Class Graph Key Components

The revenue composition by class graph includes the following key components:

  • Data sources - Revenue and class data from NetSuite, with period definitions from your reporting calendar.

  • Visualization - Bar chart where each class uses a unique color for clear comparison. The Y-axis shows the percentage of total recurring revenue. The X-axis displays periods based on your selection. The chart highlights changes in class composition and shifts in revenue distribution over time.

  • Metrics - Ending balances for MRR and ARR, shown as a percentage for each class.

  • Filters - Metric (ARR or MRR), subsidiary, customer, item, department, and location.

  • Reporting periods - Monthly, quarterly, or yearly periods. Select select start and end dates for analysis.

Definition

MRR

The total predictable revenue generated from active subscriptions each month.

ARR

The total predictable revenue generated from active subscriptions each year.

Class

Revenue category or business segment.

Period

The time interval selected: monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

Ending Balance

The recurring revenue at the end of the selected period.

To view the class composition graph:

  1. Go to Subscription Metrics > Revenue Metrics > View.

  2. From the Metric filter, select ARR or MRR.

  3. (Optional) Apply filters to refine results.

  4. Select the duration, start period, and end period you want to review.

  5. Review the graph to compare class performance.
