A DIMM is a cold-service component that can be replaced by a customer.
Before You Begin
Before beginning this procedure, ensure that you are familiar with the cautions and safety instructions described in Safety Information.
Caution - Do not leave DIMM slots empty. You must install filler panels in all empty DIMM slots.
Familiarize yourself with DIMM configuration rules.
Prepare the system for service.
Remove the processor module. Place the processor module on an ESD-protected work surface. Remove the processor module cover.
Caution - DIMMs and heat sinks on the motherboard might be hot.
