A fully-populated PM has the following characteristics:
Sixteen 4, 8, 16, or 32-Gbyte DIMMs installed in the slots related to CMP 1
Sixteen 4, 8, 16, or 32-Gbyte DIMMs installed in the slots related to CMP 0
Note - When upgrading a half-populated PM to a fully-populated configuration, all DIMMs associated with each CMP must be identical (same capacity and same architecture). To identify DIMMs, see DIMM Rank Classification.
The DIMM slots are color-coded to help you determine which slots are populated for different configurations. In a fully-populated PM, the slots are populated as follows:
Blue color-coded DIMM slots: Populated
White color-coded DIMM slots: Populated
Black color-coded DIMM slots: Populated
The following figure shows where the DIMMs should be installed in a fully-populated processor module.
