Your environment may include a Preview feature that you can use to see how an asset will appear in a sample Web page. Note that this feature is not available by default. The developers working on your site must enable it by adding an atgPreviewURL view mapping attribute for the asset type (for more information, see ATG Business Control Center Administration and Development Guide). A Preview button then appears on the page used for editing that type of asset in the ATG Business Control Center. The button points to a URL representing the Web page you want to use for the preview (usually a test page or a page on a staging server). For information on how to set up the Preview button, refer to the ATG Business Control Center Administration and Development Guide.

If the Preview feature is available for the type of asset you are editing, a Preview button appears at the bottom of the right pane in the asset editing window. The Preview button is grayed out until you save any changes you have made to the asset. Similarly, if you are previewing an asset that you have just created, you must click Create before you can use the Preview button. If the button is permanently grayed out, make sure the ATG application has been started with the –layer Preview switch. See the ATG Business Control Center Administration and Development Guide.
