This section describes connecting the servers to the Oracle DE2 disk shelf(ves).
Note - Do not connect the servers to Sun Disk Shelves.
For the most up-to-date cabling diagrams, refer to the Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance Cabling Guide for the latest software release at http://www.oracle.com/goto/ZFSStorage/docs, and follow the procedure to connect the disk shelves to clustered servers (controllers) with one HBA. Oracle ZFS Storage Appliance documentation combines both hardware and software information, and documentation sets are differentiated by the software release number.
Note - The Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-ES is similar to the Oracle ZFS Storage ZS3-2 for connecting to Oracle DE2 disk shelves.
Before You Begin
Observe the following guidelines:
If connecting to more than one disk shelf, balance the number of disk shelves across the disk chains in your system.
Disks with different capacities or rotation speeds cannot be mixed within a single disk shelf.
Maximize the number of disk chains before adding disk shelves to an individual chain.
To locate PCIe card slot 3, see Back Panel Status Indicators, Connectors, and PCIe Slots.
