Download Firmware and Software Using My Oracle Support

  1. Go to the following web site: http://support.oracle.com
  2. Sign in to My Oracle Support.
  3. At the top of the page, click the Patches & Updates tab.

    The Patches and Updates screen appears.

  4. In the Search screen, click Product or Family (Advanced), which is near the top.

    The screen appears with search fields.

  5. In the Product field, select the product from the drop-down list.

    Alternatively, type a full or partial product name until a match appears.

  6. In the Release field, select a software release from the drop-down list.
  7. Click Search.

    The patches available for downloading are listed.

  8. To select a patch for downloading, click on the Patch Name (you can use the shift key to select more than one patch).

    A pop-up action panel appears. The pop-up panel contains several action options, including the Add to Plan and Download options. For information about the Add to Plan option, click on the associated drop-down button and select “Why use a plan?”

  9. View the Read Me file, which contains the Release Notes, by clicking the Read Me button. Read the information and address any release-specific requirements.
  10. To download the patch(es), click the Download button.

    The file(s) is downloaded locally.

  11. Unzip the patch file using an archive manager or by issuing the unzip command.

    The file is expanded into the All_Supported_Platforms directory, and has a .pkg.gz file name extension.


    Note - Do not attempt to open/unpack/decompress the zip file inside your server's system archive.


  12. To upload and apply the patch, go to the BUI Maintenance > System online help page, and click the link for information on updating the system software. Pay special attention to the section describing how to update a clustered system.
