This emergency power down task using the Oracle ILOM CLI is not a preferred power down method. If possible, attempt the graceful power down task first. If that fails or a more immediate power down is needed, use the task Emergency Server Power Down Using the Power Button because it allows the operating system to gracefully shut down. If this is not possible because you are not physically located at the system, then use either this emergency task or Emergency Server Power Down Using the Oracle ILOM Web Interface.
Caution - This task forces the main power off. You might corrupt or lose system data, or lose the server configuration (the resources assigned to it) during an immediate power down. |
Oracle ILOM displays the default command prompt (->), indicating that you have successfully logged in to Oracle ILOM.
-> stop -f /System
The server powers down immediately.
Caution - To completely power off the server, you must disconnect the power cords from the back panel of the server. |
