The JavaServer Pages Standard Tag Library (JSTL) from Sun Microsystems handles generic Web application tasks that are supported by all application servers. JSTL is comprised of four tag libraries:
core: evaluate and display data
xml: manage XML code
fmt: handle internationalization
sql: interact with SQL data sources
