On Windows, the CAS Service is registered as a Windows Service and starts automatically when the operating system starts. This is the recommended way of running CAS on Windows.
If you have changed any of the CAS configuration files, you can stop and restart the CAS service, using the Windows Console, for those changes to take effect.
Note
The CAS Service can be slow to startup if it contains large Record Store instances and has not been cleanly shutdown.
To run the CAS Service on Windows:
