Stopping the CAS Service from a command prompt

In UNIX environments, you stop the CAS Service from a command prompt. In Windows enviroments, you can optionally stop the service from a command prompt, or use the Windows Services console (recommended).

Note

If you start the service using the command prompt you should also stop the service using the command prompt.

To stop the CAS Service:

  1. Open a command prompt and navigate to the bin directory.

    In a default installation on Windows, this is C:\Endeca\CAS\<version>\bin.

  2. Run the cas-service-shutdown.bat script (for Windows) or cas-service-shutdown.sh script (for UNIX).

    For example, in a default installation on a Windows machine, the command is as follows: 

    C:\Endeca\CAS\<version>\bin>cas-service-shutdown
