This section describes how to configure your web store using layouts, widgets, and elements, made available via the Design tab.

It includes the following topics:

Your web store is made up of layouts, or template pages. Layouts contain a set of design tools, known as widgets, that define the structure of your web store pages. Accessible via a component library, widgets can be added, removed, cloned, and customized as required. Several widgets are themselves made up of configurable sub-component elements.

Note: You can use an extension to upload custom widgets and widget elements to your store. For further information, refer to Extending Oracle Commerce Cloud Service.

To access layouts, click the Design tab and open the Layout sub-tab.

Each individual layout represents one of the various page types available to you when designing your web store. The layouts act as a template for your store, allowing you to make adjustments and preview before publishing live.

Each layout is comprised of widgets. They provide the web store structure, each one representing one part of the overall page layout. Widgets contain within them the specific UI functionality to which they relate. For example, the Order Confirmation layout contains information on items ordered, prices, shipping address, and so on.

Upon opening the Layout tab you will see the Select Layout drop down menu on the left side of your screen along with the layout configuration toolbar icons displayed on the top right of your layout screen. This toolbar gives you access to the Layout Preview, Grid View, Layout Settings, and Clone Layout configuration menus.

Note: From the layout configuration menu you can also select the Experiments option to access the experiments dashboard used for AB testing. After selecting the preferred layout for your experiment, you can choose from the menu options to add new experiments or view experiments already running. Refer to Using Oracle Commerce Experiments for further information.
