Copying a Price Component

Note: This topic is not applicable for the health insurance business.

Prerequisites

To copy a price component for a rate component, you should have:

  • Rate component defined for the price item in the application

Procedure

To copy a price component for a rate component:

  1. Do either of the following:
    If you want to copy...Then...
    Price component of a price item pricing assigned to an account
    1. Search for the account in the Customer 360° View screen.

    2. In the Search Results section, click the Context Menu (The Context Menu Icon) icon corresponding to the account whose details you want to view.

      A menu appears.

    3. Click the Go To Effective Pricing menu option.

      The Pricing (Account) screen appears.

    4. Price assignments effective for the account appears in the Effective Price Assignments for Account zone.

    5. In the Search Results section, click the link in the Pricing Information column corresponding to the price item whose pricing details you want to view.

      The Price Item Pricing screen appears.

    Tip: Alternatively, you can edit the price component of a price item pricing assigned to an account by:
    1. Clicking the Broadcast (The Broadcast Icon) icon corresponding to the price assignment in the Effective Price Assignments for Account zone of the Pricing (Account) screen.

      The Price Assignment Tree zone appears.

    Price component of a price item pricing assigned to a person
    1. Search for the person in the Customer 360° View screen.

    2. In the Search Results section, click the Context Menu (The Context Menu Icon) icon corresponding to the person whose details you want to view.

      A menu appears.

    3. Click the Go To Effective Pricing menu option.

      The Pricing (Person) screen appears.

    4. Price assignments effective for the person appears in the Effective Price Assignments for Person zone.

    5. In the Search Results section, click the link in the Pricing Information column corresponding to the price item whose pricing details you want to view.

      The Price Item Pricing screen appears.

    Tip: Alternatively, you can edit the price component of a price item pricing assigned to a person by:
    1. Clicking the Broadcast (The Broadcast Icon) icon corresponding to the price assignment in the Effective Price Assignments for Person zone of the Pricing (Account) screen.

      The Price Assignment Tree zone appears.

    Price component of a price item pricing assigned to a price list
    1. Search for the price list in the Price List screen.

    2. In the Search Results section, click the View (The View Icon) icon corresponding to the price list whose details you want to view.

      The Price List Price Item Pricing screen appears.

    3. Price items assigned to the price list appears in the Price List Price Items zone.

    4. In the Search Results section, click the link in the Pricing Information column corresponding to the price item whose pricing details you want to view.

      The Price Item Pricing screen appears.

    Tip: Alternatively, you can edit the price component of a price item pricing assigned to a price list by:
    1. .

      Searching for the price list in the Price List screen.

    2. In the Search Results section, click the Broadcast (The Broadcast Icon) icon corresponding to the price list whose price item pricing you want to view.

      The Price List Price Items zone appears.

    3. Click the link in the Pricing Information column corresponding to the price item whose pricing details you want to view.

    4. The Price Item Pricing screen appears.

  2. Ensure that the Price Assignment Tree zone is expanded when you are copying a price component.
  3. Click the Expand All button to expand all the rate components to which the price components are associated.
  4. Click the Duplicate (The Duplicate Icon) icon corresponding to the price component whose details you want to copy for the rate component.
    Note: You can copy a price component of a rate component only when the price item pricing is in the Draft, Proposed, or Template status.
    The Price Component zone appears. It contains the following fields:
    Field Name Field Description Mandatory (Yes or No)
    Rate Component Information Displays the concatenated string of information about the rate component for which you want to define the price component. Not applicable
    Display Sequence Used to specify the sequence of the price component whose rate is used for calculating the pricing of the price item. Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required while defining the price component of a rate component.
    Show Price Component Used to indicate whether the price component is displayed in the bill.
    Note: If you select the check box, the price component will be displayed in the bill.
    No
    Description Used to specify the description of the price component. Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required while defining the price component of a rate component.
    Rate Used to specify the rate for the price component. Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required while defining the price component of a rate component.

    In addition, this zone contains the following buttons:

    Button Name Button Description
    Show Price Component Tier Used to define, edit, or delete the tiering criteria of the price component.
    Note: The Show Price Component Tier button appears only when Tiering Type of the rate component is STEP or Threshold.
    Show Price Component Eligibility Used to define, edit, or delete the pricing eligibility criteria of the price component.
    Note: The Show Price Component Eligibility button appears only when the Pricing Eligibility check box is selected in the Price Item Pricing screen.
  5. Add, edit, or remove the required details in the Price Component section.
  6. Add, edit, or remove the tiering criteria of the price component, if required.
  7. Add, edit, or remove the pricing eligibility criteria of the price component, if required.
  8. Click Save.
    The new price component is defined for the rate component.
