Adjustment and Surcharge Rule Data Model

The adjustment rule and the surcharge rule are both referred to as an Adjustment Rule at the entity level. The adjustment value and surcharge value both point to the Adjustment Value.

Adjustment Rules

The adjustment rules are configured within the default time period by defining dimension values and default adjustment values for the scheduledefinition. The adjustment rule couples an adjustment value to the combination of the values of the schedule dimensions (one or more dimension as defined by schedule definition). It points to the adjustment value on one side and the applicable schedule dimension values on the other side. A unique adjustment rule is added for the combination of the values of the schedule dimensions, pointing to an adjustment value.

The adjustment rule has the following attributes:

Schedule Definition	Points to the schedule definition of type 'Adjustment' or 'Surcharge'
Default Time period	The default time period to which the adjustment rule belongs

Default Adjustment Value

A default adjustment value has the following attributes:

Field	Description
Adjustment Rule	The reference to the adjustment rule. Unique in combination with the default time period.
Amount	The amount by which the premium is lowered or increased
Currency	The currency of the adjustment amount
Percentage	The percentage by which the premium is lowered or is increased
Function	Dynamic logic function to calculate the adjustment amount
Default Time Period	The default time period to which the adjustment value belongs

Schedule Dimension Value

A schedule dimension value stores the value of the configured schedule dimensions. It has the following fields:

Field	Description
Schedule Dimension	The schedule dimension to which the value belongs to
Value From	The schedule dimension value from (if the dimension is of type Value, then this will store the exact value)
Value From Currency	The currency of the dimension from amount
Value To	The schedule dimension value to (this only applies to schedule dimensions with usage Range)
Value To Currency	The currency of the dimension to amount
Premium Schedule Line	The reference to a premium schedule line
Add-on Premium Schedule Line	The reference to an add-on premium schedule line
Adjustment Rule	The reference to an adjustment rule
Fee Schedule Line	The reference to a fee schedule line

Constraints

• Exactly one of premium schedule line, add-on premium schedule line, adjustment rule or fee schedule line must be specified
