If used, the automatic index cleanup rules are run once per day. To configure automatic history deletion:
On the Projects tab, go to Projects > Your Project > Indexing > History tab.
Set the following:
Minimum inactive indexes—You must have at least the specified number of inactive indexes before any index is automatically deleted.
Note: Active indexes are never automatically deleted.
X most recently indexed—Retain this number from the most recently created indexes.
Indexed in last X days—Retain indexes created after the specified number of days in the past.
If neither the “X most recently indexed” nor the “Indexed in last X days” rule is selected, no indexes are deleted.
Click the Save Rules button.
When indexes are automatically removed, both the index files and the related event histories are deleted.
An index will not be deleted if an existing indexing task has been scheduled that has a reference to that index, for instance an incremental update via automatic indexing rule.
By default, cleanup rules are run 30 minutes after Oracle ATG Web Commerce Search starts up, and every 24 hours after that. You can configure this behavior in the schedule
property of the /atg/searchadmin/repository/service/IndexCleanupService
Nucleus component in the ATG Control Center. You can also run the cleanup manually at any time using the Dynamo Server Admin. See the ATG Installation and Configuration Guide for information on both the ATG Control Center and the Dynamo Server Admin. Go to /atg/searchadmin/repository/service/IndexCleanupService
, and invoke the cleanIndexes
method.
