Search Administration allows you to configure rules that suppress certain file types, preventing them from being indexed (see Building Indexes in this guide). The number of files suppressed is stored for display by Search Administration. If your rules suppress a very high number of files, your system may develop memory problems.

If this happens, you can set a limit on the number of file suppression rules results that are stored during indexing. (A better solution would be to adjust your content sets so the file suppression rules are not required.)

To adjust the number of suppressed rules to store, use the following properties of the /atg/searchadmin/audit/IndexReviewService component:

  • maxSuppressedRulesToStore—Maximum suppression rules count to store in database.

  • maxUnspecifiedExtensionsToStore—Maximum unspecified extensions to store in database.
