This use case is representative of the traditional use of a scenario/slot combination. In this example, the slot will not even be displayed in ATG Service Center. The customer’s actions on the external website trigger the scenario and the content that is delivered is specific to him. You pick External Profile to make the slot customer-aware because the customer is the main subject of the scenario.

If you wanted to extend this use case to make it more like Use Case 4, you would just have to ensure that the scenario is propagated to the internal cluster so that it shows up in ATG Service Center for the agent to view when they are helping that particular customer.
