Log Files

VTS supports the following log files.

Log files
Description
VTS test error log
Contains time-stamped VTS test error messages. The log file pathname is /var/sunvts/logs/sunvts.err. This file is not created until a VTS test failure occurs.
VTS kernel error log
Contains time-stamped VTS kernel and VTS probe errors. VTS kernel errors are errors that relate to running VTS, and not to testing of devices. The log file pathname is /var/sunvts/logs/vtsk.err. This file is not created until VTS reports a VTS kernel error.
VTS information log
Contains informative messages that are generated when you start and stop VTS test sessions. The log file pathname is /var/sunvts/logs/sunvts.info. This file is not created until a VTS test session runs.
Solaris system message log
Is a log of all the general Oracle Solaris events logged by syslogd. The pathname of this log file is /var/adm/messages.
VTS Verbose log
Verbose messages are the test progression informative messages that are logged to the log file in /var/sunvts/logs/sunvts.verbose. These messages are logged only when the verbose mode is enabled and helps you continuously monitor what is happening during the testing.
VTS Event log
Contains test start messages. Every test that is started by VTS infrastructure, logs its start message in the sunvts.event file which has the start time and version of the test binary. The pathname of this log file is /var/sunvts/logs/sunvts.event.
VTS Report log
A report of the VTS test session logged using the vtsreportgenerate utility. The log file path name is /var/sunvts/logs/sunvts.rpt.
