The System Activates Most Contracts Behind-The-Scenes

Contracts are activated by one of the following methods:

  • The contract activation background process (referred to by the batch control ID of SAACT) automatically activates pending start contracts once it detects that everything necessary to start service is defined in the system. This is the most common method for activating contracts. This process runs as often as your organization desires (but it should run at least daily).
  • You can automatically activate a contract when it's created if you plug-in an contract creation algorithm of type SACR-AT on the contract type. Because everything necessary to start service must be defined in the system before a contract can be activated. If this algorithm is not plugged in on an contract type, contracts of that type are activated by the contract activation background process or manually.
  • You can activate a contract manually (assuming everything that's necessary to activate service is in place). Simply open Contract - Main and click the Activate Contract button. This is only necessary if you do not want to wait until the contract activation background process next runs.
