Defining a Value for the C1-CONTRACTTYPES Extendable Lookup

Prerequisites

To define a value for the C1-CONTRACTTYPES extendable lookup, you should have:

  • Divisions defined in the application

  • Contract types defined for the required division in the application

  • Characteristic types defined in the application (where the characteristic entity is set to Contract)

Procedure

To define a value for the C1-CONTRACTTYPES extendable lookup:

  1. Search for the C1-CONTRACTTYPES extendable lookup in the Extendable Lookup Query screen.
  2. In the Search Results section, click the link in the Description column corresponding to the C1-CONTRACTTYPES extendable lookup in which you want to add a value.
    The Extendable Lookup screen appears.
  3. Click the Add button in the Page Title area of the Extendable Lookup screen.

    The Extendable Lookup Value screen appears. It contains the following sections:

    • Main - Used to specify basic details about the extendable lookup value. It contains the following fields:

      Field Name Field Description Mandatory (Yes or No)
      Extendable Lookup Value Used to specify the value for the extendable lookup. Yes
      Description Used to specify the description for the extendable lookup value. Yes
      Override Description Used when you want to override the description of the extendable lookup value. No
      Detailed Description Used to specify addition information about the extendable lookup value. No
      Status Used to indicate the status of the extendable lookup value. The valid values are:
      • Active

      • Inactive

      Note: By default, the Active status is selected.
      No
    • Contract Information - Used to indicate the contract type using which the contract should be automatically created for accounts belonging to a particular division. It contains the following fields in a grid:

      Field Name Field Description Mandatory (Yes or No)
      Contract Characteristics On clicking the Add (The Add Icon) icon, you can define characteristics for the contract which is automatically created on the account creation. Not applicable
      Division Used to indicate the division whose accounts' contract must be automatically created. Yes (Conditional)
      Note: This field is required when you are adding contract information in the extendable lookup value.
      Contract Type Used to indicate the contract type using which you want to create the contract.
      Note: The Search (The Search Icon) icon appears corresponding to this field. On clicking the Search icon, the Contract Type Search window appears.
      Yes (Conditional)
      Note: This field is required when you are adding contract information in the extendable lookup value.
      Contract Status Used to indicate the status in which the contract must be created. The valid values are:
      • Active

      • Canceled

      • Incomplete

      • Pending Start

      • Pending Stop

      Yes (Conditional)
      Note: This field is required when you are adding contract information in the extendable lookup value.
  4. Enter the required details in the Main section.
  5. Enter the details, such as the contract type, contract status and characteristics, using which the contract should be automatically created for accounts belonging to a particular division.
  6. If you want to define a characteristic for contracts which are automatically created for accounts belonging a division, click the Add (The Add Icon) icon corresponding to the required division and contract type combination.

    A grid appears with the following fields:

    Field Name Field Description Mandatory (Yes or No)
    Characteristic Type Used to indicate the characteristic type.
    Note: The list includes only those characteristic types where the characteristic entity is set to Contract.
    Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required when you are defining a characteristic for a contract which is automatically created.
    Characteristic Value Used to specify the value for the characteristic type.
    Note: On specifying the value for a predefined characteristic type, the description of the characteristic value appears corresponding to the Characteristic Value field.
    Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required when you are defining a characteristic for a contract which is automatically created.
  7. Enter the required details in the Characteristics grid.
    Note: If you select a predefined characteristic type, the Search (The Search Icon) icon appears corresponding to the Characteristic Value field. On clicking the Search icon, you can search for a predefined characteristic value.
  8. If you want to define more than one characteristic for the contract, click the Add (The Add Icon) icon in the Characteristics grid and then repeat step 7.
    Note: However, if you want to remove a characteristic from the Characteristics grid, click the Delete (The Delete Icon) icon corresponding to the characteristic.
  9. If you want to create more than one contract for accounts belonging to a particular division, click the Add (The Add Icon) icon and then repeat steps from 5 to 8.
    Note: However, if you want to remove a division and contract type combination from the Contract Information section, click the Delete (The Delete Icon) icon corresponding to the division and contract type combination.
  10. Click Save.
    The extendable lookup value is defined.
