Installation Troubleshooting

If you experience problems while powering on the Netra Modular System from Oracle or while adding or removing a node, review the information in this topic. If you do not find an answer to the problem, refer to the Netra Modular System Service Manual Supplement.

Problem
Possible Solution
Modular system does not power on.
Keep notes on the following situations in case you need to call Oracle Service:
  • Is the Power/OK LED lit on the front status panel of the modular system?

  • Are the building's main power circuit breakers to the PDU input power cords on?

  • Check Oracle ILOM fault management settings to ensure that there are no faulty components or incorrect power management settings that might be preventing the modular system from powering on.

Compute node or management node does not power on.
Keep notes on the following situations in case you need to call Oracle Service:
  • Is the Power/OK LED lit on the node?

  • Are all of the PDU's on?

If you determine the node is faulty, work with Oracle Service to determine if you need to return the node to Oracle. Refer to the Netra Modular System Service Manual Supplement.
Cannot connect to a serial console.
Ensure that the serial console is connected to the RJ-45 coupler panel port 40. For more information, refer to FMM Software Ports in Netra Modular System Service Manual Supplement.
Cannot locate the serial number for the modular system.
