The ATG product suite contains certain components that must be used as unique instances within a cluster. If you enable and start up more than one instance of these unique instance components, errors can result. These unique instance components are:
The process editor server. There should be exactly one instance of your ATG application running this component, and all other instances should be aware of it. See the ATG Personalization Programming Guide information about setting up a process editor server.
The workflow process manager. There should be exactly one instance of your ATG application running this component, and all other instances should be aware of it. See the ATG Personalization Programming Guide information about setting up a workflow process manager.
The ATG Commerce
Fulfillmentmodule. If your application includes ATG Commerce, only one instance of theFulfillmentmodule should run on the cluster. Therefore, you must assemble two different versions of your application. For one version, includeFulfillmentin the list of modules when you invoke the application assembler; for the other version, omit this module. Deploy the version of the application without theFulfillmentmodule on the main cluster. Deploy the version with theFulfillmentmodule on a separate cluster that has a single application server. To learn more about theFulfillmentmodule, see the ATG Commerce Programming Guide.
