Adding a New Tab in ATG Service Center

The following steps describe how to add a new tab in ATG Service Center. The examples add a “My Tab” tab:

  1. In atg.svc.repository.service.UIService.java, add a new tab constant for the new tab:

    public static final String MY_TAB_ID = "MyTab";

  2. In atg.svc.ui.util.ServiceUIComponentDataStore.java, assign the new tab ID to a license, otherwise the tab will not load up in Service Center in spite of the data definition:

    ds.addServiceUIComponent ( new atg.svc.ui.util.ServiceUIComponent
    (UIService.MY_TAB_ID, ticketingLicenseName, ticketingModuleName, tabType)
    );

Add a new data definition for the tab in ACC:

  1. Create a project in BCC and start ACC.

  2. Open the Service repository in edit mode.

  3. Open the workspaceFramework FrameworkDefinition and add “MyTab” to the list of tabIds.

  4. Duplicate the reportPanel TabDefinition.

  5. Change tabId to MyTabId.

  6. Change titleKey to resource bundle key and specify the resource bundle path in resourceBundle.

  7. Change accessRight to MyTab (create access right later).

  8. Change actionId to MyTab.

  9. Change nextStepsId to MyNextSteps.

  10. In panelStackOrder change reportPanels to MyPanels.

  11. In panelStackAssignments, remove reportPanels=contentColumn key and add MyPanels=contentColumn.

  12. In currentPanelStacks, remove reportPanels=contentColumn and add MyPanels=contentColumn.

  13. Create MyTab global AccessRight.

  14. Give the right to the appropriate service profiles.

  15. Check in BCC project.

  16. In the Agent script/actions/tabActions.js file, add a new function to change the tab to the MyTab:
