The Web Services support in the Oracle ATG Web Commerce platform is based on JAX-RPC (Java API for XML-based RPC). The JAX-RPC specification defines a standard way for incoming XML-based SOAP messages to be converted to Java-based RPC calls. The Oracle ATG Web Commerce platform uses Oracle’s reference implementation of JAX-RPC. Parts of this reference implementation are used to generate Web Services, and other parts of it handle the processing of SOAP messages when a Web Service is called.
