Query Rules allow you to create patterns, which are matched against queries that users submit and then perform actions in response to those matches.

One situation in which you might want to use query rules is when users commonly search for terms that are not included in the indexed content. For example, they often search for “boy’s clothing,” but the product descriptions in your catalog do not contain the word “boy.” A query rule could indicate that queries containing “boy” should also check for “men” and “his.”

A rule set consists of any number of rules, which are organized into rule groups.
