On SPARC systems, the automated installer (AI) fails to install Oracle Solaris on an iSCSI boot device. The following error message is displayed:
Error configuring interface: usr/sbin/ipadm create-addr -T static -a local=10.129.170.129/24 igb0/v4
Workaround: Install the OS using non-vanity names with all of the network SMF properties disabled. To implement this workaround, another network interface must be available and connected to the switch for network configuration after the installation is complete. The first interface is used for iSCSI booting.
