SPARC: Running VTS on a T3-2 Server Causes Fatal Error in the PCIe Fabric (19137125)

On a SPARC T3-2 server, any attempt to run Oracle Validation Test Suite (Oracle VTS) can cause a fatal error in the PCIe fabric regardless of whether it is started through the runvts option (/usr/sunvts/bin/runvts), a command in a terminal window (/usr/sunvts/bin/startsunvts -t), or the graphical user interface (/usr/sunvts/bin/startsunvts -g).

The following error message is displayed:

Workaround: Do not run VTS on the SPARC T3-2 server. However, if you need to run VTS, downgrade the version by using the following commands:

  • Issue the following commands if the system/test/sunvts package is not installed:

    # pkg change-facet facet.version-lock.consolidation/SunVTS/SunVTS-incorporation=false
    # pkg update SunVTS-incorporation@0.5.11-0.175.1.0.0.14.0
    # pkg install system/test/sunvts
  • Issue the following commands if the system/test/sunvts package is installed:

    # pkg change-facet facet.version-lock.consolidation/SunVTS/SunVTS-incorporation=false
    # pkg update SunVTS-incorporation@0.5.11-0.175.1.0.0.14.0 sunvts@7.0.14-0.175.1.0.0.14.0
