Upon opening the Layout tab and expanding the Select Layout drop down menu, all layout page types available for use when designing your web store are displayed. Opening each of those layout options displays the individual layout instances for that particular layout type.

A flag icon indicates the default layout instance for any given layout type. The default layout is used if no other layout is assigned based on the page contents.

Note: Non-default layout instances may not be viewable by shoppers with the exception of the Product Details and Collections layouts assigned to selected products, product types or collections.

Each time you clone a new layout instance of that type, you have the option to make the newly cloned layout the new default.
