If a store supports certain combinations of languages, shoppers’ searches might not return the results you intend. This is because of the way the Oracle Commerce Cloud Service search engine handles language parsing.

Shoppers will see the intended search results if your store supports any combination of the following languages, as either the default language or translations: Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Portugal) and Spanish.

The quality of search results may deteriorate if your store supports any combination of the following languages, or any of the following languages with any of the languages from the previous list: Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), Czech, Danish, Finnish, Greek, Hungarian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Swedish, Thai and Turkish.

For example, setting English as the default language, and setting Thai as a secondary language can cause unexpected search results. Likewise, setting Chinese as the default language and setting Arabic as a secondary language.
