Custom Reports in Dashboards Overview

Note: Custom reports are supported for the Email, SMS, Mobile App (for Push notifications, In-app messages, and messages sent to Message Center), and Web Push channels.

Dashboards provide the ability to create custom reports (also called analysis).

Prerequisites

To use this feature:

  • Interactive Dashboards Plus must be enabled for your account.

    As of the 22B update, Interactive Dashboards Plus is generally available. If Dashboards are not enabled for your account, please contact your Oracle Responsys account representative to enable them.

  • The channel from which you will create custom reports (Email, SMS, Mobile App, or Web Push) must also be enabled for your account.
  • To create custom reports, the Email Analytics Author and/or SMS Analytics Author and/or Mobile Apps Analytics Author and/or Web Push Analytics Author role must be assigned to you.

    If this role is not assigned to you, please contact your Account Administrator.

  • If you need to view custom reports as well as create them, the Email Analytics Manager and/or SMS Analytics Manager and/or Mobile Apps Analytics Manager and/or Web Push Analytics Manager role must also be assigned to you.

Mobile App custom reports: important considerations

When building custom reports for the Mobile App channel, some of the dimensions are only able to combine with certain attributes:

Important: Conversion Type is only applicable for Push notifications. The Clicks and Click-Through Rate measures are not available for regular Push notifications, and the Conversions, Conversion Rate, Active, and Active Rate measures are not available for In-app messages. Additionally, you can use the Campaign Type attribute to include or exclude, using a filter, specific campaign types (such as Push or In-app).

Avoiding double sends for Push campaigns

When creating custom reports for the Mobile App channel, if a Push campaign was also sent to the Message Center, you will see two sends for that Push campaign, and all the related performance metrics will be diluted. For example, Open Rate for the Push campaign will be counted against both sends and not only the push sent. If you want to see Push notification sends without Message Center sends, make sure to use a filter in your custom report to set the Sent to Message Center dimension to No.

Message Center dimensions: important considerations

When building custom reports for the Mobile App channel, not all dimensions and measures apply to Message Center campaigns or sends to Message Center for a Push campaign.

Note: To view data related to Message Center campaigns and sends, the recommendation is to use the Message Center dashboard rather than to create your own custom reports.

Message Center campaigns

If you create a custom report for Mobile App, the following measures and dimensions will show no results or null results for campaigns whose Launched As dimension is equal to Message Center. Learn more about definitions for Mobile App dimensions and measures.
