Set up an Inbound Agreement

This section explains how to set up an inbound trading partner agreement to process the transmission files received from the trading partner.

  • For an inbound agreement, its corresponding outbound agreement must be configured to generate the required outbound transmissions.

  • If an inbound agreement is not configured for an outbound agreement, then the transmission gets loaded in the application without generating any outbound transmission. For example, supplemental file processing for State Medicaid Enrollment.

Create an Inbound Agreement

To create an inbound agreement, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the trading partner page.

  2. Select the trading partner that you want to create an inbound agreement from the trading partners list, or search for the preferred trading partner name.

  3. On the page menu, click Inbound Agreements, and then click New.

  4. Enter the following information:

    Item Description

    Name

    Enter the name of the inbound agreement.

    Code

    Enter unique code for the identification purposes.

    Line of Business

    Select the appropriate line of business from the drop-down menu.

    Transmission Model

    Select the desired transmission model from the available options.
    If the required model is unavailable, see Manage Transmission Models

    Default to LOB for Exception Threshold

    Select Yes if the agreement applies only to line of business thresholds. Select No to apply only thresholds configured for this trading partner Agreement.

    Individual Match Key

    Select the identifier used for matching data.

  5. Click Save to save the details of the Inbound Agreement.

Edit an Inbound Agreement

You can change any of the details of the agreement except its Code.

You need to create a new Transmission model if the required transmission model is not available in the drop-down.

To edit an existing inbound agreement, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the trading partner page.

  2. Select the trading partner that you want to edit from the trading partners list, or search for the preferred trading partner name.

  3. On the page menu, select Inbound Agreements.

  4. Select or the Inbound Agreements that you want to edit from the list.

  5. On the right-hand pane, click Edit, and then make the required changes.

  6. Click Save to apply the updates to the agreement details. Click Cancel to return to the trading partner details page without saving changes.

Activate an Inbound Agreement

To activate an inbound agreement, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the trading partner page.

  2. Select the trading partner that you want to edit from the trading partners list, or search for the preferred trading partner name.

  3. On the page menu, click Inbound Agreements.

  4. Select the Inbound Agreement that you want to activate from the list.

  5. Under the Action, click Flower and select Enable.

The state of the inbound agreement changes to Enable, which means trading partners can exchange data.
