Define Severity Definitions
Exception definitions allow you to specify the severity category of an exception. There are two categories of severity levels:

System defined : These predefined severity levels include Critical (or Fatal), Normal Error,and Warnings. These system-defined categories are indicated with the flag

User-defined: You can create custom severity levels to categorize your exceptions beyond the system-defined options.

Create a New Severity Level
To create a new severity level, follow these steps:

Log on to the Oracle Insurance Data Exchange - Designer application.

On the home page, click Type and Value
, and click New.

Enter the following information about the severity level:

Enter a unique value code to identify the severity level. |
Description |
Enter a small description of the severity level. |
Update Severity Levels
You can modify the severity details, such as severity level and description, based on business needs.
To edit the existing severity level, follow these steps:

Navigate to the type and value page.

Select the severity levels you want to edit from the list.

On the right-hand pane, click Edit, and then make the required changes.

Click Save to apply the updates to the severity level.
