Grounding Guidelines

The modular system must use grounding-type power cords. For example, the modular system uses three-wire, grounding-type power cords, so always connect the cords to grounded power outlets.

  • Because different grounding methods are used depending on the location, check the grounding type and refer to documentation (such as local electrical codes) for the correct grounding method.

  • Ensure that the facility administrator or qualified electrical engineer who verifies the grounding method for the building performs the grounding work.

  • Use 8 gauge or larger copper wire and a listed two-hole compression-type connector (with holes for M6 studs at 25.4 mm hole centers) to ground the cabinet, using the ground studs in the rear bottom or rear top of the modular system.

  • Tighten the bolts securing the compression-type connector to the M6 studs to 3.1 Newton meters.
