Associating an Address to an Entity

Prerequisites

To associate an address to an entity, you should have:

  • Required entity defined in the application

  • Address types defined in the ADDRESS_​TYPE_​FLG lookup field

Procedure

To associate an address to an entity:

  1. Ensure that the Address Entities section is expanded when you are defining, editing, or copying an address.

    The Address Entities section contains the following fields in a grid:

    Field Name Field Description Mandatory (Yes or No)
    Effective Date Used to specify the date from when the address is associated with the entity. Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required when you are associating the address to an entity.
    Entity Type Used to indicate the type of the entity. The valid values are:

    • Account

    • Adjustment

    • Person

    		 Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required when you are associating the address to an entity.
    Entity ID Used to indicate the entity to which you want to associate the address.
    Note: By default, this field is disabled. If you select the entity type, the Search (The Search Icon) icon appears corresponding to the Entity ID field. On clicking the Search icon, the Account Search, Person Search, or Adjustment Search window appears depending on the entity type that you have selected.
    		 Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required when you are associating the address to an entity.
    Address Type Used to indicate the type of the address. The valid values are:

    • Account Override

    • Person Mailing

    • Person Seasonal

    Note:

    The list includes only those values which are already defined in the ADDRESS_​TYPE_​FLG lookup field.

    You can only set the address type to Person Mailing or Person Seasonal when the entity type is set to Person. And, you can only set the address type to Account Override when the entity type is set to Account.

    		 Yes (Conditional)
    Note: This field is required when you are associating the address to an entity.
    Account-Person ID Used to indicate the account holder to whom you want to associate the address.
    Note: This field is enabled when the address type is set to Account Override. The Search (The Search Icon) icon appears corresponding to the Account-Person ID field. On clicking the Search icon, the Account Person Search window appears.
    		 Yes
  2. Enter the required details in the Address Entities section.
  3. If you want to associate more than one entity with the address, click the Add (The Add Icon) icon and then repeat step 2.
    Note: However, if you want to dissociate an entity from the address, click the Delete (The Delete Icon) icon corresponding to the entity.
  4. Click Save.
    The address is associated with the entities.
    Note: You cannot associate the address to an entity if the entity is already associated to another address using the same address type and effective date.
