Remove an Internal USB Flash Drive

The server can be equipped with up to two internal USB flash drives. Before you remove a the USB flash drive on which Oracle System Assistant is installed, review Servicing the Oracle System Assistant USB Flash Drive.

  1. Prepare the server for service.
    1. Power off the server and disconnect the power cords from the power supplies.

      See Powering Down the Server

    2. Extend the server to the maintenance position.

      See Extend the Server to the Maintenance Position.

    3. Attach an antistatic wrist strap to your wrist and then to a metal area on the chassis.

      See Take Antistatic Measures.

    4. Remove the server top cover.

      See Remove the Server Top Cover.

  2. Grasp the USB flash drive and pull it out of the internal USB port.

    Note -  If your server is configured with Oracle System Assistant software, it is located on the USB flash drive in the bottom USB slot. Before removing the Oracle System Assistant USB flash drive, see Servicing the Oracle System Assistant USB Flash Drive.
