You might want to include resources in your Web application that allow you to pass dynamic information to Nucleus components through the Dynamo request. Such resources include context parameters, filters, servlets, Web services, and tag libraries. The resources you create need to be consistent with the J2EE (or W3C for Web services) standards described in their respective specifications. After they are created, you need to register them with the Web application by adding them to web.xml
in accordance with the J2EE specifications.
Keep in mind that, for JHTML and JSP requests, the J2EE servlets you create are processed after the pipeline of Dynamo servlets. It is recommended that you define your custom filters to execute as follows:
For JHTML requests, custom filters should be the first resources called by the Web container. The next resource should be
DynamoProxyServlet
.For JSP requests, custom filters should be called just after
PageFilter
. This means thatPageFilter
activates the DAF servlet pipeline and upon its completion, your custom filters are executed.
