While atypical, it is possible to configure some agents in a site for switch mode and other agents in the same site for online mode. This is permissible as long as the asset destination (repository or VFS) is configured the same on all agent servers sharing that destination in the same data store. For example, if your product catalog is configured for online mode on one agent server, it must also be configured for online mode on all other agent servers sharing that destination in the same data store. However, if you also have a price lists repository in a different data store that has no references to the product catalog, you can configure that asset destination for switch mode. The price lists repository must be configured for switch mode on all other agent servers sharing that destination in the same data store.
