Room Management Workspace

Prerequisites

The Room Management function provides crucial, up-to-the-minute information about room status, location, availability, task sheets, and related topics. It allows you to generate daily task sheets for attendants and update the status of rooms after the attendant services them. The Room Management Workspace is available under the Inventory menu.

How do I enter a new Room Maintenance request?

Can I go back and mark a Room Maintenance request as Unresolved after it has been marked Resolved?

 

 

After opening the workspace, you can access the following functions:

Workspace Functions

Description

Housekeeping Forecast

Displays anticipated occupancy percentages, arrival rooms, stayovers, departure rooms, adults in-house, and children in-house.

Heartbeat

Provides up-to-the-minute housekeeping and property information on room availability, room status, reservations, and other factors.

Room Discrepancies

Allows you to update room status discrepancies that exist between the Front Office and Housekeeping, for example, when a reservation shows occupied, but housekeeping finds the room vacant.

Housekeeping Board

Displays housekeeping room information at a glance and provides the ability to update room status. The Housekeeping Board includes room numbers, room status, service requests, locations, and other information of importance to housekeeping services.

Floor Plan

Provides visual information of floor layouts and the ability to update room status.

Room Maintenance

Allows you to create and display maintenance requests by date and reason.

Room Conditions

Allows you to assign room condition codes to rooms, for example, to designate rooms that are available for show, rooms that are set aside for special housekeeping attention, or rooms that are to be treated differently for any other reason.

Out of Order

Allows you to change the status of a room to or from Out of Order and define a period of time, reason code, and return status. Out of Order rooms are removed from property availability.

Out of Service

Allows you to change the status of a room to or from Out of Service and define a period of time, reason code, and return status. Out of Service rooms are included in room availability to be sold.

Site Plan

Displays images of the property, amenities, or other physical structures/locations.

Task Sheets

Allows you to view, edit, and generate housekeeping assignments for attendants.

I Want To...Generate Task Sheets

Allows you to create Task Sheets identifying tasks, resources, room criteria, and other information used for managing attendants and workloads.

I Want To...Go to Reports

Displays the Report Destination screen for printing, emailing, faxing, or previewing Housekeeping reports.

Note: When logged into a Hub, selecting a Property in any of the Room Management jumps automatically populates all of the jumps with the selected Property. The selected Property remains in all of the jumps for as long as you remain in Room Management or until you change the Property.
