You can edit a custom field to modify the field name, attributes and other values.

Note: Each field type differs slightly in its definition.

  1. Click the edit icon of the field’s respective table row. The Logical Name and the field type are displayed as read-only.

  2. You can edit the Display Name of the field, which displays the name of the field in the list of custom fields.

  3. Modify the Field Attributes by selecting the attributes to include with the field.

Note: You must mark a field constrainable if you want that field to appear in the ATG Service Center Query Builder as a solution class-specific constraint. If you do not mark a field constrainable, it will not be usable in the Query Builder.

Note: When you create or change the searchable or constrainable attributes on a field definition, you must perform a bulkLoad indexing to put the changes in effect. Refer to the ATG Search Installation and Configuration Guide for additional information.

    • Default Value - Specify a default value that will be filled in automatically for the field when a solution is authored. Default values can be overridden by the ATG Knowledge user authoring a solution.

  4. If you are configuring a Boolean or List field, enter the field values.

  5. Configure the Field Security by expanding the required security controls and selecting the appropriate radio buttons. You can set who can view or modify the field, as well as whether external users will see the field.

  6. Click Save to save your changes.
