A tag is a label that you assign to articles and media content assets. Aside from its automatically-assigned ID, a tag has only one property, the tag property that holds a simple text string. For example, you could create a tag whose tag property has the value back to school, and apply the tag to articles and media related to a Fall Sale campaign.

You can assign a tag to any number of articles and media content assets, and an article or media content asset can have any number of tags assigned to it. Values of the tag property can be used for searching and guided navigation.

Note: Tags are not site-aware. In a multisite environment, tags are available to articles and media content assets on all sites.
