Defining a Charge Type

Prerequisites

To define a charge type, you should have:

  • Values defined for the CHG_​TYPE_​SUB_​CAT lookup field

Procedure

To define a charge type:

  1. Click the Admin link in the Application toolbar.
    A list appears.
  2. From the Admin menu, select C and then click Charge Type.
    A sub-menu appears.
  3. Click the Add option from the Offset Request Type sub-menu.

    The Charge Type screen appears. It contains the following sections:

    • Main - Used to specify basic details about the charge type.

    • Characteristics - Used to define the characteristics for the charge type.

    The Main section contains the following fields:

    Field Name Field Description Mandatory (Yes or No)
    Charge Type Used to specify the charge type. Yes
    Description Used to specify the description for the charge type. Yes
    Charge Type Category Used to indicate the category to which the charge type belongs. The valid values are:
    • Additional taxes

    • Commission

    • Down Payment

    • Fees

    • Premium- Endorsement

    • Premium- New Business

    • Tax

    Yes
    Charge Type Sub Category Used to indicate the subcategory to which the charge type belongs. No
  4. Enter the required details in the Main screen.
  5. Define characteristics for the charge type, if required.
  6. Click Save.
    The charge type is defined.
