Getting Set Up

Unless you plan to use the sample ATG Self Service application as-is, without any re-branding or incorporation into your existing Web application, you will want to modify the ATG Self Service pages, and perhaps the entire application itself. Follow these steps to access the application.

  1. Use WinZip or the jar xvf command to expand

    <ATG2007.3dir>/Service2007.3/Service/SelfService/j2ee-apps/selfservice.ear

    into the directory called

    <ATG2007.3dir>/Service2007.3/Service/SelfService/j2ee-apps/selfservice-ear

  2. Edit the <web-uri> property of application.xml in the following directory:

    <ATG2007.3dir>/Service2007.3/Service/SelfService/j2ee-apps
    /selfservice-ear/META-INF/

    Set the property as follows:

    <web-uri>
            _knowledgebase-userexperience
    </web-uri>

  3. In the directory

    <ATG2007.3dir>/Service2007.3/Service/SelfService/j2ee-apps
    /selfservice-ear/META-INF/DYNAMO-INF

    change all of the files to say:

    <module-uri>_selfservice</module-uri>

  4. Re-assemble the application into an EAR file and deploy it to the appropriate location. Start your application.
