By default, segments are stored as files with the extension
.properties
in/atg/registry/RepositoryGroups
. To change the folder in which the new segment is stored, click Select Parent and specify the new folder. When you have completed the fields in the General tab, click Create. The new segment is added to the project as an asset.
You need to set up the rules that define the user profiles that will be included in the group. Click Rules to display the Rules tab.
Click Include in the Rules title bar. The beginning of the new rule appears in the Rules panel.
Specify the profiles you want to include by selecting People Whose… and enter the information that identifies the profile.
Note: The segments, locale and brand URL parameters set profile attributes, which control the user segment that the user is in. For example, if you create a segment that includes users whose brand is Acme, any users whose brand is listed as Acme in their User Profile will be included in the Acme segment.
Deploy the segment. Ensure that the deployment has occurred successfully before continuing.
Once you’ve created the segment, use the Service Administration console to add the segment. For further information, refer to the ATG Service Installation and Configuration Guide.
Open Service Admin > Self Service > Site Management.
Click Add Segment to display the Add Segment pop-up window. Select the new User Segment from available Self Service segments.
You can choose an existing segment to copy site settings from. By default, Everyone-External is selected.
When you click OK, that Segment is added as a separate site for Self Service users.
Once the User Segments have been created and added, customize each segment. For information on configuring User Segments, refer to Specifying ATG Self Service User Segments.
