Verify a Fan Module

  1. Ensure that you have completed the following:
  2. Check the front or rear panel LEDs for the following:
    • Green System OK LED – lit

    • Amber System Fault LED – not lit

    • Amber System Fan Fault LED – not lit

    See Front Panel Controls and LEDs and Rear Panel Controls and LEDs.

    If these conditions are met, continue to Step 5.

    If these conditions are not met, perform the actions described in Diagnostics Process.

  3. Log in to Oracle ILOM.

    See Log In to Oracle ILOM (Service).

  4. Start the faultmgmt shell.
    -> start SP/faultmgmt/shell

  5. Use the fmadm faulty command to check for faults.
    • If faults are reported, see Diagnostics Process.

    • If no faults are reported, then the fan module has been replaced successfully.
